Food Whore doesn't have any recipes in it -- but it should. I realized this after the book was copyedited and the text was designed (ie: waaaaay past the point I can make any substantive changes).
But that's why I'm so happy that some of the most important dishes in Food Whore are in this exclusive cookbook featuring all-new recipes inspired by the book. Every bite and sip represents a pivotal moment in the book: Dacquoise Drops, Pomegranate-Lemon Bars, Cioppino, the "Michael Saltz Manhattan", and Salade Nicoise.
More than an interview or an appearance ever could, these recipes really show what I was thinking while I wrote the book. Food fiction is interesting because the dishes have to be convincing as actual edible meals, but they also mean something. These dishes are far from arbitrary. In the Food Whore Cookbook, I write about why I chose these dishes--and how to make them at home.
So how do you get it? Well, you can't buy it in stores. All you need to do is pre-order Food Whore by 10/20 and send your receipt to fwpreorder@gmail.com. HarperCollins will send you a copy for free! Supplies are limited, so I suggest ordering ... nowish :) More details here!
